Decided to make a post listing the names of desserts I've tried to make so far. The list will be growing to include more of ice cream soon.

Tired... need a break

I dont like the planning at times in my current workplace. Yesterday we had an event. Today is back to work like usual. Lessons as usual, cca as usual... Err everybody including students are all feeling very tired. WHY not have no club. Have a day off. Guess its not in their culture to do so. So everybody suffers from the fatique everyone is feeling.

Super tired today. Yesterday I had assignment. Requested to change to Monday instead of Tuesday. So after the school event, about 5pm, I had dinner with a collegue and later ice cream. Hang around a bit more until 7.30pm plus before heading for assignment. Freaking tired by the time I've reached home. Expectedly, woke up feeling like crap.

Just got through my teaching periods. Left cca later. Argh... stoned. I am not feeling productive to do up lessons and stuff. For now just want the day to end quickly. Then I am contemplating going to gym since I didnt go last week and also yesterday. Argh... gym vs fatique. Waistline vs Will-power. The consolation is the gym in Jurong East closes at 10pm. And very soon the Clementi one will re-open and it wont be as great a struggle of will-power about the decision to go to the gym though the view and the gym in Jurong East is really nicer and better in a way. Can consider going there once in a while to kill the monotony.

This is the 2nd last week of the term. The consolation is that lessons are lesser due to some timetable scheduling... plus starting from this thurs, lesser periods. Yet it is still very tiring cos we dont get to go back earlier. Still the same working hours, same ending time. Not much lesser in terms of mental tiredness. It's worse when trying to kill time or try to plan lessons, can be so mentally-tired by the end of the day.

My remaining local collegue is contemplating opening a franchise. She is into the final stages. Its a sole-proprietor type with good money if one is willing to piah. For my case, my current working hours meant I cant go for those training and interview and course. Also the amount involved is not small. And I am hesistant cos I dunno if I want to be in teaching as a biz and having to do it for the forseeable future. Not sure about this. For now, just wishing for a break.

The first thing I wanna do is switch off the bloody alarm and just sleep to the heart's content. Planning some driving lessons after 1 week into the holiday. In the first week, just intend to sleep more, gym, swim and stuff. Then consider about travelling after the driving. So far nothing in mind, nothing decided. Experiment with different ice cream recipes too. Not thinking much else so far.

Resolve to spend $300

I earned an extra $300 having to work as an oral examiner last Sunday. I resolved myself to spend it instead of just saving it up. Cos I really value my weekends alot. Having to work on Sunday without a holiday make-up meant that its really going to be taxing the following week. So instead of wanting to save up the money, I decisively wanted to spend it. Since that money is extra.

I think there's nothing wrong cos I save as much of my salary, extra from assignment and even shares. So this $300 is not going to make much of a difference. I rather make sure I 'enjoy' myself since I had to give up a rest day.

I was super super tired this week, more so than the usual fatique. I gave up going to gym just so that I was knocked out by 8pm at night. Sat had to go to Chinatown cos some students had an outing. So that meant additional 2hrs plus 1.5hrs of getting there and waking early and stuff. Ya today also didnt go gym... signz gained weight again.

Anyway, $92 went to my green Disegul funky pants. Another $108 just went into my new Kenwood Ice Cream Maker. So that's about $200. The other $100 can just put in the bank since I cant think of what else I want to buy at the moment. As long as I can try to make about 5 times ice-creams, I think I am good to go on not acquiring a white elephant. So far I put the freezing bowl into the freezer. Need 24hrs+ to freeze while I get the ingredients and decide on which one to experiment on.

For now, just rest and chill until work resumes tomorrow. Tomorrow is an entire day of event. Luckily I didnt go for the dinner after that. But it meant having to wake up way earlier than usual...

3 days of consecutive Katsu-don

On Monday, I set myself to go to gym. It was a good workout, though my body ached a little bit.

Tue, unexpectedly Tab called me to meet for dinner in Clementi. She was at NUT for training. Luckily my assignment got cancelled, so we ate dinner leisurely. I asked her to choose between Ma You Ji or Ootoya, she chose the former. So after ordering one serving, we saw satay n we decided to order. It was very filling. It's been so long since I've ate satay. After walking around a bit of Clementi Mall, we settled in Baskin Robbins cos I've never eaten there before. I bought a waffle bowl with 2 scoops of ice cream; choc peanut and caramel truffle. Topped with almonds n more caramel sauce. It was a super sinful extended dinner.

Wed, my local collegue n I went to eat dinner with a Jap collegue whose birthday was coming. I ate grilled chicken salad with coke lite cos felt guilty abt yest's dinner. When we headed to Udders, I ordered tiramsu n rum & raisin with Vodcar topping. But both collegues only taste a
little bit, so I ate the whole waffle with both scoops of ice cream. Decadent indulgence! I hardly eat an entire waffle with 2 scoops of ice cream before... Of course that ate into my planned gym.

Thur, just had assignment.

Fri, I ended up eating Malay nasi Padang cos I really dunno what to eat Liao. Then dinner at Ootoya saw Me eating 3 bowls of rice with the Katsutoji. The ssauce is very savory that I happily ate Refills after refills to finish the 'soup'. The pork was thick n delicious. Then we had Dessert at Mang Ji.

Sat, I started off healthier, first leftovers. Veg n rice n tomato chicken pieces. Then lunch out was the Asian Soup broth. Ordered a daikon soup with fried rice tofu n baby kailan. Dinner I didn't want to just eat sushi so I ordered a Katsu don that remindedme of the Jap food in arts canteen previously. It's a bettertasting version. Then added adashi tofu n sweet. Potato tempura. I skipped dessert cos very full.

Sun- I had to work today as an oral examiner. So I woke up at 7am and got ready. It went smoothly and I am reimbursed $300 extra for It but to me, my Suns are worth more than that. Will definitely feel the after-effects tom. After work ended at 3.30, I headed to the gym. Did my workout n got hungry. In my mind, I kept thinking about Tempura udon + Katsu don like WaZen style. I cpdnt decide between both n when I reached Sumo-Ya in Clementi, I ordered the Katsu don set & the Tempura udon set. Combined, the food consist of a bowl of udon, a bowl of Katsu don, a decent portion of pickled cucumber, 1 miso soup n 4 slices of orange n a small serving of tempura. So I ate it waxen style for just $10. (the Katsu don set is just $2.90++) I realized I like the Udon noodles soup more than the salty miso. And I ate most of it up, except a mouthful of rice n about a quarter of the udon. Was so very full. I told myself NOT to ever try something like this again. Really full.

Tomorrow better go gym again

Super OT on Friday

For the examinations on Thur n Fri, I end up having to invigilate 1-2 lone sick students in a separate room. The burden is shared between another Aussie collegue, so we each took 2 periods. Kinda boring coz the room is small, and I don't want to scare them by staring at them while they do their paper. So for the first day, I just zoned out entirely while seated there. Looking occasionally that there's no cheating, then resume stoning.

Friday, I decided to read a storybook for the first period. Later the 4th period's I was marking the exam scripts for eng. I had to mark in two colours so that slowed down the speed. Plus correct is circle. And cos I don't have to set the exam papers, I help to mark all the scripts, all the eng parts which is 95% of the paper.

I had thought I could finish marking by 5pm since I started at the 3rd period. In-between for an hour, I did head out for a normal lunch 1hr at MOF cafe in west coast plaza. So before that I almost finished a class. Left at near 2, came back around 3... By 6, I have finished 2 classes.

As I don't want to come back on weekends to do it, plus not so nice to leave for the other 2 Jap collegues to do the remAinder, I decided to piah it out. Around 8, 3rd class was finished. And by 9.50pm, finished the last class. Why did it take so long? Cos of the way the answers are crammed into the paper, diff marking style and the fact that I am markin more than 90% of it of every script. Another helped to mark 3 translation questions and he finished and I asked him to tally the marks. So I left work with 2 other collegues still around. Dunno if one had stayed on cos I was marking. The other went home, to continue the tallying of marks on sun. I am so not going back just to tally students marks, check their files. Will do that on Monday.

So I reached my area's coffeeshop n ate a late dinner of "mee tai ba" in ketchup. Reached home, I was munching this whole pack of snacks and drinking A can of Tiger Classic. Slept soundly after that. Was kinda glad guitar was cancelled.
