Another week's worth of blog
Currently I am having my free period, gotta start soon so cant blog for much. Hmm lemme see if anything interesting has happened. Sadly last Monday was more exciting with Y-Nan Ren hunting.
This week, well with regards to shuai ges, I saw one or two in when I hopped down to the gym yesterday. Quite the looker, with build, muscles and Hot bodies. But seriously just in case u gotten the idea that I go to gym to bio guys, please..... so far I have only seen a couple decent ones. And I didnt stalk them out by stalking out that place at precisely the same time so that I can catch another glimpse, unlike my sister n her Y-Nan Ren. Its just a plus when u drag yourself to the gym. Eye candy that is so rare.
Well its mid-week and most of us are tired. Wednesday is really stuck in the middle. The week seemed to come to a stand-still, accelerating only when this day has past.
Monday I went down to MJ to return CDs that turned out to be videos. Xian. Cos it was far and I went after work. By the time I reached home, its around 4.30pm. Then I rest for 1.5 hr before rushing off to tuition which means I reach home around 10-10.30.
Tuesday was no less tiring. Had to stay back to help out until 4pm doing admin work. Xian. Then I dragged my dead body into the gym to work out. Later realised through sms that Tab was signing up as an Educator also. Oh well, hope u dun regret rite. Or u could purposely screw up the interview and tell ur parents that u have tried.

Back again. Just finished the meeting. Anything interesting to report? Err... Today took over all the periods for a collegue on medical leave. As expected its difficult cos its P2. Not to mention that there was one Particular irritating, annoying, freaking noisy, attitude boy. So whats wrong with one only among a class of 35? Well just one is already a freaking handful. Constantly calling me, walking up to me, raising hand for no biz, speaking very loudly, snatch classmates things, push this person lah, that person push him lah.....etc the list goes on, u know.
Luckily that there was some proper lessons planned for them to do. But the downside was that I was the one doing the lesson. Lucky I ran down and photocopied some kids worksheet for them to do inbetween as a filler cum time waster. Besides having to pull very hard at that kid's ear for trying to choke his friend, scolding him severely many times, telling him to shut up, sit at the corner.... the day passed uneventfully..... sign

After some meetings, we had our Taiji aerobic exercise. It was the last session. Every wednesday usually i end up in gym cos i reckon since i was already sweaty, no harm in going to the gym. Thanks to the Taiji exercise, I had been able to 'throw' myself into the gym. The thing is that I dun regret AFTER i finished the workout. Its only the dragging myself in part that is difficult. U tend to make excuses like "tomorrow lah, today too tired.... , I am too busy...." The funny thing is if i skip, i'll start having some sort of regret.... "should have gone..." and if it keeps up, will definitely go out of shape. Well my March review date is coming, and I havent lost any weight but have gained. My current craving for western food is killing me, but i didnt give in. I have been eating soup n mee n rice these few days. The craving is getting stronger. But have been snacking alot on all sorts of koropok that I buy. Cannot resist the temptation. Today alone, I bought 2 taipoca chips, 1 pack of ear biscuit and 1 pack of pineapple biscuit. I still have an unopened pack of muruku on my table from last week..... Better control myself.
Anything else to report? Well tomorrow will be another full day for me cos my current mentor called me to inform me of her medical leave tomorrow. She told me what i am supposed to do. Things i am supposed to cover. The good thing is that it is my class and not someone elses class. I know where they are and roughly what to cover. Oh well for now, whatever remaining time i have is for me. Time: 11.57pm. Have to sleep asap, my eyes are closing....
The sturdy oak Tree has fallen and the aged Saru has left the land of the natto beans behind. What else awaits in the uncertain future?

Just another plain entry
If u are wondering why the title is what it is, its becos there isnt much for me to blog about. My life sadly is mundane and I have NO social life or bf to go out with. Hmm lemme think real hard and see if I can recall anything out of the ordinary that happened to me.... did I fall into a drain whatever.
My answer, Nothing much or interesting. Well on Monday, I was feeling very exhausted after 4 weeks of interuppted sleep, compliments of the CCB mosquitoes. Didnt hear my alarm clock, luckily my mom woke me. Actually while sitting up on the bed, I was VERY tempted to just get an mc and sleep. But the fact that there were still alot of mosquitoes around at 6am, I decided not to continue to dance with the mosquitoes. Let them have my sisters. HAHAH
Then later after I chiong back, my sister reminded me that she was going for an audition for STARDUST, the Bizad karaoke competition. Having NO valentine's date but only a tuition. I deferred it and went with both my sisters to bizad in the evenings. Actually my eyes were near closing. The only interesting event was that we purposely went there early so that I might be able to finally catch a glimpse of the Y-Nan Ren, that my sister is so madly infatuated with. We did. Otherwise, I would have cursed and swear cos I was really exhausted on Monday. I admit he is handsome, but he has a face that I cannot remember. Cos when we walked past him, he looks handsome, but immediately after u walked past, cannot recall the face. Only vaguely remembered that he has 2 eyes, 1 nose and 1 mouth.
So mission accomplished. Then while waiting for the audition, I suggested that we go the comp lab, cos Y-Nan Ren hangs around there. My sister was like 'oh no, so pai seh. So obvious'. My excuse is that Bizad is soooo small that we can walk around mah. Who ever say its done on purpose. He dun have evidence. So we went there and true enough he was there. I guess my sister would die satisfied. Then he went down to the library cos he has a car. (While walking from the bus stop, my sister could actually point and identify his car from midway. I was like where? where? huh?) After my sister finished using the loo, we walked down to the auditorium and there he was again near the water cooler. Fate was kind to us, the three lonesome ladies on Valentines Day. :P
My sister was the first to go for the audition but had to do without music cos she didnt have the karoake version. I felt that she sang well and confidently told my other sister that if Geoko dun go in, she can chop off my neck. (I guess I still feel that Stardust is of low standard) Then my sisters friend went up. Not bad. But the rest really knocked us off. There were 6 others and they were so high standard. As each one went up to do his/her song, Geoko's chances diminished and my neck went nearer to the chopping board. Actually a few were so good that we as the audience wanted to do standing ovation. In the end, my sis didnt make it through. I became the headless horse woman.
That was for Monday, the rest of the week has been rather uneventful. Except that now I am a loan-shark??? I compiled a list of students who didnt hand in their worksheets and went after them one by one. I bug them until they hand up. That did the trick cos some chronic cases actually did their work and corrections and hand up, even though it was late. But better late than never. Its really tiring to have to count who didnt hand up but I guess I have to continue to be a HomeWork Shark. :P

CNY Emcee
Phew, just came home after the CNY concert today. So to continue last time's story. After 'piahing' all Saturday nite n into the wee hours of Sunday. There was a list of things that we had to double-check with the teachers who are in-charge of that item. So the task fell onto me, since my partner was a trained teacher, me being untrained, meant that I had more free time to do those. Off I scurried around to ambush those teachers and clarify with them things like estimated timing for the performance, time needed for removing from stage, getting certain names down on paper etc. All these allowed us to estimate the timing since no rehearsal was held. One teacher told us that she needed 7 mins for her item to be ready, hence on Monday, we had to invent 7 mins worth of new year crap and do a trial run with my partner.
But cos its Monday, there was remedial classes. And after the remedial classes, there was Taiji aerobics for all staff. Hence after all these had ended, then I sat down with my partner to discuss the above. We added lines and did a short trial-run. We decided to improvise if we had to. After all, both of us are biz students. Crapping on the spot is no problem. It was 6pm when we finally left the school.
Today is the BIG day, and I cant wait for it to be over. Cos I just had another epic battle with the mosquitoes n was feeling kinda light-headed from lack of sleep. Anyway today woke up earlier to put on make-up, wax my hair and wear a Qi-pao top with black pants and ladies sandals. The thing is that HAVE to wear red, and we are advised to wear the Qi-Pao n make-up. Oh well. At least today dun have to teach. Later I saw a collegue on the train and she remarked nice, brighten up her day blah blah... Bought some coffee to sip to wake up, brought the stuff to the backstage with my partner and waited.
After the pledge, its SHOW-TIME! I went into 'presentation' mode and we started. U know the typical greeting and introduction of ourselves as the emcees. In order to waste time, some things we did imprompto. My partner was good too, and we could coordinate with each other's actions n extra stuff we inserted at the last minute. Didnt know whether we did well, but from the stage, could see some teachers smiling including the P and VIP. Anyway at least both of us enjoyed ourselves a bit whilst we are on stage, so that makes the hard work seem worthwhile.
In fact we were so successful in wasting time, that one event was taken out. A pity cos it was fun. But its not our fault cos we didnt have rehearsals n certain items took up a huge chunk of time. Anyway, in the end, wished all a Happy Chinese New Year ahead and ended. The pupils were given red packets containing chocolates and released. I went down back to the Staff room and packed my bag to go off. I saw my partner and thanked her for a work that is well-done. Before I went off, a collegue told me that she enjoyed the show cos it was very refreshing and we coordinated very well and were very natural. She said that pupils were attentive. Oh well, it feels good to be appreciated cos alot of work on our part.
On the whole, this is the FIRST time, I am an emcee. Work is still interesting cos there are many first times. Though tiring at times, its still refreshing still.
I would like to wish all:
A HAPPY N PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR!
May the new year ahead brings us new hope and challenges.
I hope to be able to look back at the past year with more fond memories. This emcee experience can be counted as one. A great start to the year. Best wishes!

Emcee Thingy
I met up with my collegue cum partner to discuss the emcee lines on Sat evening. We started around 8.20pm. Whilst doing up the script, we realized that basically we had the LION SHARE of the work. Cos there was no rehearsal of any sort, which means we didnt know how long each item takes to set up. Which means we dun know how long we are supposed to talk. On top of that, there is one part where it involves the P giving out oranges to the staff and all. And so our lines have to be scripted to sound formal. Have to sound like prize-giving presentation. DUH...
So basically to cut the long story short. We had so much talking to do cos the CNY concert is supposed to be 2hrs long. But there are only 2 performances. Then the emcee, are involved in Quiz cum Game. Basically its just the 2 of us doing almost everything... Around 11.30pm, we were still doing the lines. There are like 9 intermissions in-between so have to crap to stall for time for the performance/tables to be put up on stage, crap for time for performance/tables to be cleared off stage, crap to introd the events up n coming, crap after the event and crap onto new event. Blah blah... On top of that, had to make a list of pple to double confirm certain elements that are missing. Basically we are almost on the verge of co-ordinating everyone and everything. No communication to us regarding this, hence it makes our job very difficult.
In the end, while we ended at No 4, it was already eleven. I brought my collegue (female) back to stay overnite to continue 'piahing' the script at my home. We did, and finally finished at 3.05am morning. Great! 2 teachers piahing like hell to finish CNY script through the nite. It really kinda feels like doing project presentation all over again. Not to mention that this is work-related, have to cover alot of asses and coordinate almost everything, a Saturday where I couldnt go anywhere cos of the meeting at nite, AND have to work up til the wee hours of the morning....
This morning around 7.30am. My collegue went home. I just finished the ppt for the quiz. I am kinda stone now. I could see my black eye bags and eye rings. Actually I have been doing nitely battles with a current mosquito problem at home. Daily, I wake up around 2 or 4am to swat mosquitoes. Hence not getting good nite's sleep on top of still recovering from flu. My whole family is sleep-deprived to a certain extent. We are mostly, on the verge of giving in to the mosquitoes and submit ourselves as POWs.
Now going off to get my beauty sleep...

2 weeks and finally sickness clearing...
Man, been VERY VERY sick for the past two weeks. It started unfortunately on my Bdae. Until now, I am still coughing quite badly with phelgm and the frequent blocked nose. My sore throat went off, until I had to shout at some kids today and now I got the familiar sore throat... It was pure agony to have to work whilst one is sick. Even worse when u have to teach.
Last week, I went back to school on tuesday, still very sick. And what did I kena? Kena relief classes!!!!! U might be thinking what is the big deal with taking relief classes? Okay lets see. First my 4 free periods just shrank to 2 periods. Next my 2 period-a-day teaching just increased three-fold to 7 or 8 periods. On top of that, I have to use my voice with a bloody sore throat. Thank god that I invested in a speaker. Eternally grateful to have it with me. To top that, I only know of my relief class around 7.10am. Which means I have less than 10 mins to plan how I am going to fill up the numerous periods with activities to keep them occupied, learning and quiet. Classroom mgt comes into play. Have to try to control the class otherwise it might potentially degenerate into chaos.
One collegue of mine, some time last year, couldnt control the class that the kids were banging tables AND the head of dept walked past. She told me the HOD put on a dramatic scene with the class. So far my relief havent reached that, even though I was really sick this time round. What's the 'best' thing? Within that week, I kena 3 full-day relief. Then the following week, kena P1 full-day relief and one upper pri one. Upper pri still okay cos they have some sense of themselves. AND u can dump them into the comp lab for 2 periods and they would thank u for it. The problem with lower pri esp the P1 is that they cant do anything but color and draw. They are easily distracted, dun understand instructions, cannot control their volume, bladder, mouths, runs around, dun respect authority. Only listen to fierce tones. Some even have an attitude to match at that tiny age.... I really hated to have to entertain them while I was very sick. It was so damaging, that I felt even worse after the relief classes.
Today is okay in terms of teaching n stuff but still a long day cos of cca. Then kena that emcee thingy on top of some design thingy. So after school, finish that crap design thingy. Barely made a dent on the emcee thingy then it was time for cca. During the entire 2 hrs, I was doing admin stuff like taking attendance, looking for radio to use, looking around for students, generating name list and a very crappy thingy called cca work plan. Oh man, lucky my Words is good, otherwise this crap is going to take damn long. Really crap I tell ya! I barely know what is going on for my current cca. I much prefered something that is sporty, cos last year I got HAF. Then I could decide on the games and exercises that they do and even participate in the games. That was so much more enjoyable instead of being the adminstrator cos there was an instructor. So only involved in the admin aspect. So far i have found it boring n unenjoyable. In fact I am starting to dread the Fridays.
Next week is the week of the CNY. Hence very busy with doing up the emcee lines. Then I dun have time enough today to finish it with my partner. Which means, have to do tonite via msn. Which means, have to meet on Sat to write on cue cards. Which means I am doing work on Sat. Which means I am doing extra. Grrrr.... In fact today after all had ended, I feel kinda xian. Like its friday, I cant go out cos have to have msn tonite to discuss some points. Then tom have to meet and do lines like presentation. I am very grateful I went to Biz school cos a lot of the skills I used so far are what we usually did, gp discussion, words, excel, powerpt, printing, setting up comps, mkting campaign and even Rag n Flag skills cos currently involved in this HUGELY time consuming marketing campaign task that involves everyone. All of which is extra and dun add much value to the kids in terms of teaching. The extra admin aspect that few know of.
