The End of 2007 and onto 2008

It leaves a bitter-sweet taste when I try to recall what I have done for 2007. Its easier to think of it this way, work is the Bitter part and my freetime is the Sweet part.

Lets recap, 2007 Resolutions stood at....
1) Achieve Work-Life Balance - by not being too hard on myself n cutting slacks.
2) To make time to go gym 2-3times a week, Learn the bloody guitar at a nearby place n Maple.
3) Try to manage my finances so that I can bum in Segamat as a tutor after bond! Time to read tat Technical Analysis book.... I have 1yr to finish reading...

I am kinda glad that especially during the longer holidays, I went about to do more interesting stuff besides Mapling, which can be eventful provided there are events to do, eg fighting Giant snowman.

The cocktail-mixing with the book and balloon-twisting are fun, especially the cocktail mixing. Its something I have been interested in for a few years. But things got sidelined as work came along.

The trip to KL, shopping at JB were fun and refreshing especially given the boosted financial power.

Certain devices surely make my day, Aoi my PSP Lite and my yet un-named MP3 player. Maybe should just stick to Tab's nick for it, Midori. They help manage the immense stress from work and the travelling, esp Midori since its been with me for almost a year b4 Aoi. I am guilty of playing with Aoi even when I am at home. Its so much easier and hassle-free compared to setting up my PS1/2 with TV, online gaming with Siren and internet. Just choose and play. Then switch off or leave on standby for a break, then resume.

I surprise myself my being able to set up that Mp3 player in the blog despite not knowing a word of html, as well as, setting up the wireless network router with security. It took me a while of fiddling esp the latter (wanted to go out to jalan jalan a while near noon, but up til 3pm, I just finished configuring) Now left with configuring my sister's laptop then the more powerful wireless network can start working.

Family for being my support always. Friends (irregardless of JC or Uni hor) help to cheer me on despite the shitty days of work.

2008 Resolutions
1) Go for regular exercise -
Something I havent done this year. Not to worry, I bought this Muscle workout book (same time I bought tat cocktail book) which I can use to train.

2) Work-Life balance -
The same thing that I am not interested to climb up. Dun mind promotion but rather just have the pay increment instead of having extra work. Next year, cca and committee so far not as bad as this year. For work, am running between both sessions. I cant comment abt whether the arrangement is good or not until I have seen the timetable which is not given yet. Dun ask me why. Yes, this is still only work which is mainly for a salary. Whether it will be more than that depends on how next year goes ba.

3) Go sign up for Guitar -
Yar one of the main reasons I kinda like Aoi is the guitar solos and rifts. Still keen to learn it. When I get my time table, I will see if I can squeeze out time to go for lessons. Think Jap should be still able to continue. Again want to see if I can squeeze out time for JLPT 4.

4) Continue to be open-minded and flexible in thoughts and things I do -
Still undoing some earlier programming and still retaining my flexibility in thinking up solutions and even my approach to things. If this way cant, go another way.

5) Continue to challenge myself mentally -
Play more of Aoi, esp the game, Mind game to train my 43 year old brain to reflect its true age. Most of us dont use much of our brain in daily life. To make it work faster, more new experiences, languages, learning or just trying to involve more of your brain. Yes, after 1 day, I improved my brain age to 42.

Really Pray for a decent year of 2008, especially for work. Best wishes for all, health and wealth. Hope tio Toto and 4D hor =)

Met my new Love - Aoi sama

Meet my new guy, his name is Aoi.

Aoi-sama is my ultra new Felicia blue PSP slim. He will be my companion on the lonely and cold bus rides plus train rides to and from work.

I have to confess, I can't seem to keep my eyes and hands off him. My new love.

The colour series of PSP slim, Aoi is on the bottom right/extreme right

The package - $525 all in, for set, 4G, crystal cover, USB charger, screen protector, choice of the colour and etc. A bit pricey BUT given that my current cab fare may rise to beyond $15 (havent sat to verify but should be close to this sum exclude peak hr surcharge), I would have recovered my cost in (525/15)=>35 days. I just need to travel on public transport, excluding cabs until near end of Feb, then I cover my cost. In fact, its a nice trade. I was playing a nice RPG farmer game, yes, its Harvest Moon series. Playing farmer, plant crops, rear chicken, cow, cook recepies. Nice way to while away the time. No regrets at all.

Now only have to settle the USB cable thing, my laptop cant detect the USB so I cant upload pictures into it. Will get it fixed up tom.

In case you are wondering, Aoi is the name of the rhythmn guitarist of the group, The Gazette. His guitar solos are godly, his lip ring makes him hot too. Was wondering if I should upload his pic? Later say me like beautiful guys... but he is very talanted... and handsome. Oh well...

Err talented cos listen to the guitar solos. Very nice. Aoi is the raven-haired guitarist.

Continuation of Christmas... Western style

The earlier post ended around 2pm. These are some of the stuff that transpired since then.

Near 2pm, I was still online looking for some balloon art video to make flowers. Why? Cos it would make a nice xmas present bah (not to mention cheap and last minute too) I watched the video twice, then switched off my haptop to get ready to make my way to Tab's place. Then I made the flower b4 I packed the juices and Cocktail book. It took a short while, and I was teaching my sister a few basic technique. Oh yar, it started raining near 2pm then. By the time I was out of the house, it was near 3pm. It took an hour to travel via 2 buses, lugging 6litres of juices, a shaker, a thick book all in 2 separate bags, plus umbrella and a balloon flower. Somehow I managed.

By the time I reached, it was near 4.20pm. Cos my stomach was still a bit unstable, hence when I started mixing the drink, I didnt sample it. In the end, it was an amatuerish attempt (wrong type of line, didnt muddle in the cup, didnt sample the drink first blah blah) Subsequent ones turned out much better as I got more into the rhythmn of things, as well as sampling a bit b4 serving. Halfway through, I ate turkey and coleslaw as drinking somewhat caused me to want to bite something. The turkey is oiishi. Nice seasoning and soft despite appearances. My Western part of christmas I guessed.

In total, mixed 5 Tequila , 1 Vodka, 1 Gin-based cocktails. In the order of appearance...
Tequila - Mexicola, South of Border, Rude Cosmopolitian
Vodka - Mudslide, Screwdriver
Tequila - Ruby Rita
Gin - Maiden's Prayer

After a few trial and error, it seems some of the drinks need to be more diluted with either ice or juices as its kinda strong-tasting. After blending, its a nicer mix. The only thing lacking is the different cocktail glasses to better serve the drinks. But hang in there, I am still a work-in-progress drinks mixer.

Err anyway back to the story of mixing. Soon Candle left, XR left, Krynnder n ZX left. Meaning I am left with fewer and fewer 'guninea pigs'. The last cocktail, Maiden's Prayer is a Gin, Cointreu plus orange juice. Its a stronger drink cos more alcohol measures compared to the earlier mixes. And I was the one left drinking most of it...

Alcohol count as follows, 1 cup of Grape wine, 1 inch of Choya, some of the 5 cocktails, 1 cup of Ruby Rita, 5 cups of Maiden's Prayer. Man by then, I was kinda tipsy still not drunk. Its nicer to sit down then to stand, cos a little bit shakey. After that Quetzal showed me her diving photos while we tried to sober up by drinking lots of plain water.

We still made our way safely to the bus, took bus home. Taxi too expensive with fare price increase neh. Think I will go and get my PSP after I wake up from this tipsy state I am in. Think by now very sober except still a bit sleepy.

If can get Grenadine and Vermouth, with tonic water, soda water and a can of ginger beer, then the next session will be mainly Gin cocktails.

A very Cheena Christmas

Yep a very Cheena christmas indeed. My mom decided to make Bao Bing (popiah) for lunch cum dinner. Its been a long while since we ate that. We chanced upon a stall in Queenstown that sold hand-made Bao Bing skin. So she decided to buy and make.

The dishes are rather simple and coarse compared to the finer dining outside, yet its a taste from childhood. Its fun to eat, cos you can put more of the dishes you like and wrap your own.

I was supposed to wake up earlier to help prepare and cook, but no one called me. By the time I woke, I was in time to help cook the carrots.

Tada, a traditional Hokkien meal - Bao Bing. (yep I cooked the carrot with some pointers from Mom)

As an experienced Bao Bing eater, lemme explain how its done. The main ingredient is the carrot and turnip. You drain them and lay them out evenly on 2 layers of skin. Then you put other stuff like green beans, fried tofu pieces, some 3-layer pork or chicken, egg, fish cake slices, some fried onion, some garnish and the sweet sauce.

Viola! A balanced Bao Bing with all the dishes laid out inside, only awaiting the wrapping.

Now you do the wrapping. First a tight roll, gathering the sides so nothing falls out. Then fold the sides in and give it another roll. A delicious Bao Bing is done.

In my younger days, I would skip certain ingredients like fish cake or beans but now to taste it fully, I just added all the ingredients. Its a nice lunch. Just 2 rolls and I am kinda full. Had a good laugh at my sister, whose roll disintegrated cos she put way too much ingredients. It turned out to be a very very fat Bao Bing. Eat until all over the hands. Ahaha, I've got the skill.

Signz invited for Christmas at Tab's place. Kinda having a funny-feeling stomach... Anyway I bought a drink mixer, a book of 501 cocktails and some juices to bring over on the long ride to make Tequila drinks. 2 problems, firstly I have not bought my PSP yet, so the long bus ride there, maybe have to consider sleeping. Second, some of the juices are kinda the cheaper grade, cos cant find eg Lime juice even from the better selection, hence no time to QC the taste. Maybe I make my way near 2pm bah... stomach...

More balloon art and my fingers hurt

Yar after more hours of ballon-twisting which cost my time for mapling... I got better and came up with these...

Rabbit - Front and Side view

Followed by Lion

Tried to make a pig, it bursts twice... grr. Then that dragonfly again burst... not fated yet I guess.

My fingers are kinda sore now and I am sick of listening to the balloon rubbing sound cos me and my sister worked on our pieces from 3pm til 7pm then 8.30pm til 11pm. The good news is she has gotten her balloon christmas tree up and christmas wreath too. The bloody star/snowflake, we both gave up after more than 1 hour of trying...

Ouch ouch, need to go wash my hands and give it a rest.

A Day of Blowing and Twisting...

Hope you all are not having hentai thoughts regarding the title. Its another rainy day except its a public holiday. Hence my sisters are at home with me. We went out next door to eat brunch.

After that, we visited that cheap toy shop that sells cheap and mostly china-made toys. A particular pack caught my eye. Its a balloon-art pack. It comes with about 10 long balloons, a balloon pump and a small booklet to make 14 types of balloon art.

Hence after buying 4 quick-dry type of polo tops for work, we headed home. The first thing I did is to start making some of the balloon art. My sister is in-charge of organizing the christmas party and had to handle food, deco, even organize the events... plus no budget.

I was thinking since she had no budget for the deco, so balloon-modelling would help save costs. No need to buy wreaths, christmas tree. Just a few balloon art pieces related to the Christmas theme. Put them around. Much more economical. Hence the hunt online for balloon-making.

HEHE... lemme show you what I have done so far. (though I burst 4 balloons) My dragon fly was complete but it burst... Later I am going to get more balloons to try. The most difficult is actually tying the damn balloon, my fingers too thick.

A good skill to master, next time sell balloon-art on the street...

The most basic, the dog cum giraffe or ram according to slight variation in the length of the twist.

The swan which looks like a snake instead...

More to come later... after I get a new stock of balloon. Found some good videos, about flower bracelet etc.

A Busy Day....

It was a busy and wet day yesterday.

I woke up bloody early around 9am though I had slept at 4am the night b4 watching the anime "Fate Stay Night" on veoh.com after my JC friends introduced me to the website. I woke up that early to tidy up the place a bit as the technician from StarHub was coming to fix up the cable for internet. Cos that tv box is near the shoe rack and its cluttered and dusty... think you get the picture.

While waiting from 11-1pm, I realized I hadnt eaten a morsel yet. But bo bian. Nobody's at home. My sisters were at work. My parents were in Msia, so I am left very much home alone. He came and fixed up in a jiffy, the only problem I have now is where to put the modem and the wireless router (which I have to go to Funan to buy) as both will take up quite a bit of space and the TV, with the VCR, VCD and DVD players are already cluttered enough. Not to mention need to have a fan to cool it.

The ideal is to put on the computer table but the long wire and not to mention, need to hang the wires overhead on the wall and stretch all the way to the table... a bit daunting to think about. Will try to tackle this on Friday. For now, I just link my laptop manually to the modem near the TV. Nevermind the wires dangling all around the living room, cos nobody's home. Have to think up something b4 sat when my parents come home...

After that it rained heavily and I didnt go out to buy food. Ate 1-2 nougouts then watched animes until 3.40pm. Then I made my way to the hawker centre to eat, and headed down to Serangoon to collect the sample photos from that studio. It is a bloody long journey to and fro. I didnt go anywhere, just there and back. By the time I reached home, it was about 6.30pm. Had frooze my butt off in the air-conditioned bus that I didnt feel too good, giddy and stuff, and decided to sleep.

Woke up near 9pm to find one of my sister back. She didnt know the sample photos were ready and I told her. She took it out and looked. When she looked at her self-portrait, she kept on complaining that she looked so fat, got double-chin, face so round. (though I thought that hers was quite okay taken, compared to mine...) Well I do share a similar sentiment for mine, out of the 4, very obvious 3 are very fake smiles.

(OH SHIT! LOST MY LONG POST COS I PRESSED THE WRONG BUTTON T_T BUBU)

The family portrait looked okay but the individual ones are really unflattering. The standard like not there. My parents had 5 shots but 2 of them were slanted.

My sister stared at the photos for about half an hour ranting about the chin issue. I was hungry and decided to go out to buy my dinner. Before I left I told her to choose one she disliked that least and to finish doing so b4 I come back. I had somewhat chosen 1 whcih is the one with the most natural looking smile, yet still a fake one.

I came back half an hour later to find her still undecided. She was still going on about the chin blah blah.

"Come on lah, that is how you look like lor. Even if it is at an unflattering angle."

"I know that but I can't handle the truth"

Later she was still going on about it whilst I ate my dinner.

"I feel sick looking at myself."

"Good then, you bring one photo with you every day and b4 you eat, take it out and look at it, then you will feel so sick that you'll lose your appetite and lose weight to get rid of your chins..."

"Good idea."

Later my youngest sister came back and she looked at that photos and a bunch of similar remarks came out, fat, face round, so unflattering, dun recognize myself (in a negative sense) After another hour of complaining about each others' photos, she went to bathe. She had brought back some food from her office and we ate those finger food. When I saw my other sister eating... and it was already 12++am,

"Eh? Thought you want to be on a diet to get rid of those chins and where is the looking at your photo to feel sick?"

"Forget it. Already lidat, so nothing can change that so just zi bao zi qi and just eat..."

I was laughing so hard, tears almost came out and was clutching my stomach. I wasnt mapling then but was playing a puzzle game like Bejeweled but with a twist of city-building element. Cradle of Rome, a yahoo game, where u blast resouces like the jewels in Bejeweled. The difference is you have to try to link and do combos for the resources you need to build up certain buildings. Also clearing the stage is not necessarily winning if you cant build up your city. The only thing is that I am playing the trial version and now its expired, I get kicked out every 5mins. The music is damn nice too. Am thinking of getting the original to play cos I like city-building games and some puzzle games.

Thats about all for yesterday.

Today is similar where it rained b4 I could go out, and I havent eaten anything save nougouts. Then I spent some time setting up the mp3 player in this blog. Have to sign up for various free pages to host, create the player then put it into the correct part of the blog template. Phew! I am very happy with the results. The 2 music currently playibg are Saber's Theme. The two versions of it are only similar in the melody. This is the current tune in my head. It appeals to me alot because it sounds melancholy, sad yet gallant like Saber from Fate Stay Night. Wont put up more until I get a new tune. Until then, have to get food soon.

Mou Ni Hajimeru (Another 2 Firsts)

Yep, its like dejavu again.

After the earlier post about 2 firsts, today is another 2 firsts but more related to eating again.

My mom, dad and bro went back to the hometown, leaving me in spore to settle the studio photo collection as well as the setting up of cable broadband connection with StarHub, plus I had dinner arrangement with JC friends, hence I stayed behind.

After getting the bonus, I wanted to 'qia' my family but couldnt make it on Sunday cos one of my sister working, I going out, my family going back. Given I know how wet a blanket my dad could be. I decided to qia my sisters first. Today had to settle our own dinner, plus its off day for one of my sister. So we met up with the youngest sister at Buona Vista Mrt and walked towards Holland Village. Its just that there is nothing much else to makan around our area unless Zi Char.

I asked them to choose, cos I had an idea of the restaurants around the area, being there just a day ago. They couldnt decide. Suggested Sushi Tei, nope, Crystal Jade, nope, Swensens, nope. My youngest sis was very hungry and wanted western. Then I remembered there is this HOG'S BREATH western restaurant. Hence we went in.

Surprisingly they do not serve huge slabs of meat, pig's knuckles or ribs as pictured from the name, but instead serve more western fare like sandwiches, pasta, western meals. I saw some rings, thought they looked delicious. When it came to ordering, I ordered Onion rings, instead of the Carimari rings in mind. BUT it is piping hot and delicious. Next we ordered Crispy Dory Pasta, Cajun Dory set and Garlic prawn pasta. Quite delicious. The portions were quite big except for the prawn pasta. Hence I topped up with another order of the Carimari rings. Its very very nice. Nice tasty batter. The seating is not on chairs but on an elevated platform with a low table and cushions for sitting. Very much like oriential. Interestingly, they serve fusion teas and quite a number were drinking their tea.

After dinner, we headed to COLD ROCK. The ice-cream place featured on HDB-TaiTai. I had scouted its exact location the day b4 and we went to eat. Again as part of my treat.

Its pricing is like this, Small $4.50, Med $6, Large $7.50 To fry it with topping is an additional $1 per type of topping. Luckily we werent too ambitious and went for Large, we chose Medium and very filling. They are very generous with their ice-cream. Usually others will scoop and fill the cup, flatten and make sure its level with the cup. For them, a Medium is about 4-5 scoops of ice-cream. If you didnt mix with toppings, they put 2-3 scoops of one flavour in the cup, another 2 scoops pile onto the cup that makes it resembles a Mickey Mouse :) No wonder business is good. We choose, Mango Sorbet n Lime Sorbet, Cuppacino n Dark chocolate and mine was Pistacho n Cheesecake mix with a chunk of Fudge.

The verdict, mine was GODLY, especially chewing the fudge pieces. Surprisingly though the colours of Pistacho is Green and Cheesecake is Yellow, the Cheesecake is nice. The Pistacho mixes well with it. Luckily its not pepperminty-like Pistacho at all. A flavour to try again is definitely the Cheesecake with Fudge.

The Pic above shows the frying counter where they take your selection of Ice-cream and mix it with the topping of your choice. Yup they have different chocolate bars, eg Mars, Snickers, peanut butter, nuts, fruits, bubble candy, chunks of Fudge, some exotic stuff like Rocky mountain and more. Not sure of their opening hours though. We left about 10.45pm and its still enjoying brisk biz despite the cold and wet weather.

Two Firsts...

As the title implied, today had two first experiences by meeting up with my JC gp of friends.

Again I am 'destined' to go out cos by the meeting time of 4pm, the rain had stopped and the sky was kinda sunny.

Lemme backtrack a bit to talk about this 'destined' thingy. I met up with Tab on thurs, where she remarked that the rest of the uni gang had tried to jio me out during the week to no avail. At first Quetzal tried on Sat, where I replied her, staying home to maple. On Monday, Tab came back and tried. My reply was similar. On Tue, Candle tried, my reply was again I intend to stay home to maple and cos it was raining, so hesistant to go out. Finally on thurs, I came out for Jap and it wasnt raining at all. It was the only sunny day in the entire week of rain. Hence I was 'destined' to come out to air the mouldy self in the sun.

So back to the story, I met up with my JC gp of friends for SeaFood dinner. We had agreed earlier back on 18th Nov, the wedding of one of them, to do so. To eat some good seafood. K, hence we met up in Clementi central. What a great change of meeting place. So near to mine, instead of always being in town. Partly cos all of us stayed in the west, from Holland V, Clementi, Jurong East up til Bukit Batok. Hence hanging around the west is more convenient for all of us. We headed to my newly-wedded friend's place to check it out. It is located very near Central. We hung around a bit, half talking about the show on SCV about Guns, Artillery, Warships, half discussing about places to eat for the dinner, half talking about 'Zen Hu' and the pay, half talking about the websites to visit to watch anime, canto drama online.

Later we headed to Holland Village to one of the coffee shop with that XO-Crab bee hoon thingy to eat 'Zi Char'. We ordered Chilli Crab, 'San Wei' Prawns and Baby Kailan plus StingRay. It is to be my first official Chilli Crab ever in a Zi Char place. (this excludes the Chilli crab offered by those 'Za Fan' stalls)(I had never eaten Chilli crab b4 in a zi char place cos my dad absolute refuse to order it. He will say the chilli taste will cover the original taste of the dish, hence he only occasionally order Pepper Crab or Steam Crab) It is nice, though not the heavenly-type where one taste and I will be transported to another realm much like those animes I've watched. The prawns are very good but the portion a bit small.

An interesting comparison now exists when I compared the 2 main group of friends I go out with.

1) My JC friends all earn higher than me (now got 1 is below) vs My Uni friends where my pay is like the average pay.

2) My JC friends will gather to do more activities eg Karaoke, Pool, Movies, BBQ birthday, BoardGames@Settlers, eat Zi Char at coffee shop types, drink coffee at Coffee bean/Coffee Club, sit at coffee shop to drink tea, coffee, milo vs My Uni friends will meet up to eat at non-cheena restaurants eg Cartel, Fish n Co, go for occassional expensive restaurants eg Black Angus for birthdays, shopping, drinking coffee at cafes, drinking alcohol at pubs, now into Boardgames@Pitstop.

3) My JC friends would meet up once about every 3-6mths vs My Uni friends we meet up weekly on most weekends and even on weekdays for dinner.

4) My JC friends dialogue can be intellectual about some serious discussions about some issues, interests, pursuits, work (anything under the sun) or be trival about mundane stuff vs My Uni friends tend to talk about work, attached-status and trival stuff.

An interesting contrasting picture and I enjoy the company of both groups. Just wish that the JC group we could meet up more often. Often we will be talking non-stop about different issues and things until the moment we part. Hmm maybe could organize something more regular.

Anyway I noticed this sharp contrast in Pt 2 when we reached the Coffee shop and ordered Zi Char to eat. We ate the crab with our hands. Its something I dun experience much with my Uni friends. When me and my JC friends each found permanent employment about 2 years back, we took turns to give lunch/dinner treats and organized it into our outings. There were times we ate at Zi Char dinner at a coffee shop, another at Merchant Hotel buffet, another at Coffee Club dinner and the final dinner at some Indonesian restaurant at Clark Quay. A different experience each time, kinda unique and refreshing. Think I enjoyed it cos I really like to do something different and new. Dunno if its an Aquarius or AB+ thingy.

After the first Chilli crab, we walked around Holland Village to first check out that Ice-Cream place that was featured on HDB-TaiTai. As one of my JC friends stayed at Holland Village, he led us to the place. I looked at the pricing, reasonable - S -$4.50, M -$6, L-$7.50. The inside of the shop is mainly white and nicely air-conditioned. You can see the person 'frying' your ice-cream to mix your selection of ice-cream, if u picked more than 1 flavour, and the toppings thoroughly well. We didnt try, just took a peep and headed to Ya Kun. Another first for me.

Yar I have never eaten nor drunk at Ya Kun yet. The reason mainly is I didnt even go with my Uni friends to the place. Partly most of the time, we meet to eat dinner so no chance to eat toast/drink coffee/tea. Orchard dun really have much Ya Kun too. The nearest is Far East. I drank the tea, nice and ordered the butter n kaya toast. The verdict is the toast is nice when dipped into the tea as it is very thin n crispy. The amount of butter n kaya though is a bit little. A first bit into the toast, cant taste much of it, cos its spread more in the middle portion of the toast. Hence a bite into the side, one encounters more of the plain toast. In Segamat, there is a very very good Nanyang coffee shop with godly toast. Important not to be too stingy with the butter n kaya and to spread it evenly. Nearing ten, we all headed back home. Its a nice meeting, glad that one of my friends is staying so nearby. Was joking that I'll bunk over if I've missed my bus.

A side add-on unrelated to this post.
The Hellbound Ranking of the various flavours and types of Pocky

There is this supermarket, Yamakawa Supa at Central. It sells lots of different flavours of Pocky as well as an array of Japanese tibits. Everytime I go in, I'll end up buying lots of Pocky, chocolate sticks as well as Green Tea flavoured chocolate.

OMG, the Green Tea flavoured Pocky is heavenly.
Hence No 1 is the Green Tea with Chocolate Swirls Pocky.
A close No 2 is the Green Tea chocolate with Macademia nuts (Think not Pocky but still oiishi)
No 3 is Green Tea Pocky.
No 4 is the very nice Double Twirl type Pocky, vanilla one (very light)
No 5 is the same Double Twirl type Pocky, double chocolate (too sweet...)
No 6 is Pocky chocolate crush with Almonds
No 7 is Pocky chocolate crush with crush cookies

Man I really love the Green tea Pocky and the double Twirl vanilla ones. After eating those, the chocolate crush just went straight to the bottom of the list. Hmm when am I going there to stock up more again? Almost finished all the Pocky with family. Cant show the pics cos the boxes got thrown away liao... so sad.

PhotoShoot!

Yep went for a Studio session with my entire family last Sat morning.

The story was, after my youngest sister's graduation, they signed up for a graduation shoot with the famous studio Serangoon Broadway. But we never got about to shooting it cos my Dad was nagging nagging about it. Hence it was kept on hold.

Now he's retired. And all of us could make it, including my brother who came out specially for the shoot, we all headed down in 2 cabs.

So we were all wearing like long sleeved white shirts, pants and shoes, so formal... There, the ladies got make-uped and got pple help u wear the gown. My father choose to take individual portraits on top of the family portrait for each, including for himself n my mom together.

For the family portrait, I wore the Biz NUS gown, complete with hat. For the individual I wore the NIE gown without the hat.

It was kinda of hard to smile infront of the camera so early in the morning. Especially they want u to smile with teeth type. Dunno how all the pics turned out, will get the sample around the 18th dec for choosing.

My bro's gown is black and looked much like the Harry Potter gown. His hood is a nice royal navy blue. He only lacked a wand :P Well he had the hardest time trying to smile. The most dabian nian amongst us.

Anyway it was interesting to see how they could change the backdrop fast and set up the props so fast. But the photographer keep saying "Hello.. hello" so kinda not easy to smile to that. The feeling is that it is a more traditional studio.

In fact while posing with that NTU booklet thingy, I was wondering if I should have brought my Mogena and posed with it? But that kinda of funky pose ideas were quashed when I asked the guy why must pose with that NTU booklet thingy instead of a scroll. The helper replied that NUS is scroll, NTU is booklet, so is lidat one. Orth...

A different and eye-opening experience for the whole family. At a hefty price tag though, $1.3k

1 week of holidaying and the funny things that happened

For starters, its been a week of gluttony and sloth at home. Hardly exercising, sleeping poorly (will explain later), hardly going out save for chores or jap class.
Havent gone about to sign up for any guitar course yet... Another 2 daunting tasks still await me ie clean up the remaining part of my table in the living room and clean up the pig-style of the room that this 'pig' currently resides in.

It is very reluctant of me to start tidying up the rest of my table n room cos that is what I have exactly been doing at work. I had spent 2 days tidying and packing up my workstation and another day to unpack at another workstation and do it up to my liking, making sure I remember where I put my stuffs. Hence another housecleaning task really really is too much for me in such a short time. The plus point is I cleared part of my table, the sides where I chuck my bags and alcohol into those big storage boxes. Its more organized, just left my actual table, clothes in the room etc etc... *groans*

The second thing is I have not been sleeping well, NOT due to mapling until the wee hours of the morning. But the fact that I had to open the window in the room. What's up with that. Well my usual habit of closing the windows, closing the door so that I can sleep in complete darkness with minimum sound. That habit of mine was mentioned to the sinseh and he said that it is not healthy. Therefore I had to open one pane of window when I close off the rest. Fine. I did it, for the past few weeks. And the result is my darkening eye bags. Couldnt sleep well at all, I havent had a decent night's rest since. WHY? Cos it got cold in the middle of the night, I will wake up shivering and irritated to find I had kicked aside the blanket and was chilling cold. Bad enough to have wake up once a night. NO. Around 4-5am, I would be woken up by the sounds of truck and buses zooming past the estate to deliver passengers or goods... Then there is the irritating sounds of birds chirping around 6am, plus the irritating bird with the damn loud cry. Then there is the sun filtering in through the curtains that light up the room like some fireworks. Then the room would get hot like a toaster oven... Think you get the picture? It was quite bad enough with the usual glare and heating up of the room in the early morning. BUT now as the window pane is open, I can HEAR all the sounds made by the vehicles, birds etc. ARGH!!!

K enough of that ranting... I try to make do by covering my eyes with my bolster, then making my pillow indent and lying in it so that the pillow covers both my ears.

Onward to amusing incidents that happpened over the span of the week.

1) Went to Vivo with my dad n sister as part of our leave and accompanying my dad. We parked at lobby A, which is at the Branded belt in Vivo ie the part where all the branded boutiques are situated. We headed to Giant cos I wanted to buy a large storage box to put all my clothes and stuff to pack up the room. Anyway to cut the long story short, my sis and I had to take turns to push the unglam supermarket trolley past Giant, through most of the Branded belt, avoiding many many people. Its kinda embarassing partly cos there was no one else pushing a trolley around save baby strollers and partly we were a bit conscious of how unglam it was to be doing what we did. BUT we put on straight faces and brave fronts and pushed the trolley as nonchalantly and as natural as we could T_T" Anyway we comforted ourselves saying that we arent famous or what and we were helping our dad with the heavy stuff and how if many people wanted to stare, then we successfully made them stare without having to dress to the nines or wear branded stuff. Hooray...

2) Last friday, on the drive back from pit-stop in Quetzal's car. I noticed a cab with car no 4444. Hurried motioned for the rest to take a look. One made a joke about how if you had made a cab reservation and the operator confirmed with you saying "Your cab, 4444 is on the way." How would one react? Another joke was if you had an extremely bad day, then you decided to flag down a cab to take your exhausted body home and this cab 4444 stops for you. What would your reaction and thoughts be? Yesterday, on my way home from Jap class (sat got something on, so attended thurs class), I hopped tiredly onto a bus. The bus no is 7474. What a coincidence? I was wondering if I should be worried for my safety and sent some joking sms to friends to check their reaction. Well I made it home safely in one piece. That says volumes about being superstitious about just some numbers related to 4.

Hmm thats all that is happening. Some moments kinda boring, some kinda routine, some kinda interesting and is revealing to the person eg who would have thought pushing a supermarket trolley could be eventful?

The 7 deadly sins & I

Man lost my post, nvm rewrite it now...

The 7 deadly sins,

Lust Gluttony Greed Sloth Wrath Envy Pride

Not that I have turned Christian or what. Its just that its kinda appropriate at this point of time. My holidays finally came on 30th Nov after braving through 2 weeks of work after school closed. Most I know started holidaying after the 1 week.

Oh well, as I was saying, I have been hibernating at home and eating and sleeping. Its like you wake up hungry, then eat, after eating then feel like sleeping. I am guilty of Gluttony and Sloth.

Maple recently launched this system of ridng an animal ie a pig that can run real fast. I was commenting to my sister that I am turning into a pig cos I kept feeling hungry and just eat n sleep. She remarked soon, I'll turn into one for riding...

Yep the hog is shown below, my bro is riding it. Me and my bunny hat :)

In line with the turning into animal theme, chanced upon this rock band - Three Day Grace. Like 2 of their songs.

Animal I Have Become (for my case, a pig)(real nice guitars)

Home (mirrors exactly what I feel about my Muar home currently after my grandparents passed away) (dedicated to my bro)

Forget the diet for now until my health and sanity recovers

Yup, the diet thing is off for now. Its been a very testing and trying time for all my collegues, being blasted daily for many things about 3+ weeks. So we end up working long hours eg 8-6pm or 9-6.30pm plus everyday. Things are not looking up. And am just waiting for next week to be over and finally take a breather from it all. The irritating thing is that food is not provided daily. Most of us didnt eat breakfast. Lunch was provided for 3 days thereafter poot. The stalls were not open, the couple that opened didnt sell proper meal. As a level, took turns to go out to dabao lunch.

So for my case, I head to town daily after a long day at work. Was out for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The only exception was Wed where I went home to finish out admin work due on thurs. A note, not to watch movie at 9.45pm cos by the time its over, its already midnight. Got to hail a cab to go home, cost about $12 so the total cost is $20! Not cheap ne. Cheaper to watch weekend instead cos got night-rider etc...

Friday tried the Tempura Curry Udon at that curry udon place at Central. The vedict for me. The Tempura is delicious. Its huge, fresh, crispy. Oiishikatta! Demo, the udon is a bit too much. After a while, get a bit sick from eating too much of it. Would prefer rice instead but rice is not served unless u order the Unagi don. Rest are just Udon. Was telling FH and Candle, the number of times I eat Udon in a year can be counted with 1 finger.

Havent gone mapling in almost a month. Think tomorrow then login to catch up. Today just still feeling too tired... bleah still got Jap class. Not that I dislike jap or what but that the journey is tiring. Oh well I think I go to sleep a bit later.

Sesame Street - Bird Flu

This is a funny parody of Sesame Street. For those whom have grown up watching Sesame Street.

Even I found it funny... esp the cookie monster and the ending.

Had a haircut yesterday at the saloon recommended by Tab n Quetzal. Cost $45, the verdict, I like the side and the back. Dun like the fringe cos again its too short... above the eye-brow type. One thing is what I had envisioned is with long fringe, not short ones. And cos my hair grows rather slowly, it takes bloody long to grow a long cool fringe. NEXT time, I am just going to go and print out a bloody picture of the hair that I want, with the cool long fringe and just say "Cut this".

On the whole, the atmosphere there is relaxing, service not bad. Only thing is really nothing to do after my haircut especially IF you go with a long-haired friend, who is doing treatment. By the time you are done, u still got to wait close to an hour for the other to be done. So what did I do? Didnt feel like walking around cos I was feeling sickly in the stomach and throat, due to the exhausting week plus overindulgence in the buffet dinner the night before. So I just sat there, listening to my mp3 with all the Gazette songs inside, falling asleep... later flip magazines for a short while, then listened mp3 again and sleeping... Maybe getting a PSP will help in this type of waiting.

Today is the final weigh-in after 1 month of dieting. The verdict is...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
0 kg lost!!!

I am still the same weight, with the extra weight which I wanted to lose. The only thing that came about is I have started doing some weights for my arms to start strengthening the flabby muscles. Will keep to that first and jumpstart other parts like the stomache and back exercises.

Will attempt a longer term dieting thing when my health has somewhat recovered.

The thing about having to work REALLY Really hard...

The thing about having to work really REALLY hard everyday for 2 weeks... is I dun get to eat well. Especially this week. On tuesday, I didnt eat anything save dinner. Drank water, sweetened drink, milk only. No wonder I stepped on the scale and 3kg flew off again.

But dun think this will be permanent cos just had a Staff function where makan is the main activity. Tom then I'll go and weigh myself. Lets just say... I had to sing as part of the entertainment, kinda imprompto and forgot some lyrics. Do not know whether showing this 'aspect' of mine, will land me more 'arrows'. Think dun care at the moment, cos its been a very very very exhausting week for everybody due the arragement of the work timing, events and looooooong meetings. Think a screw or two fell off along the way.

Oh yar. Just remb why I am blogging.

Chanced upon this Japanese-styled Jrock band, KAGRRA. The sound is unique as they mix japanese instruments and music style with the modern band sound. Very oriental and soothing to listen to. Listened to a few, but only like this 2. Give it a try. Too bad the band not so shuai... that is not a main criteria. Just really the rest of their songs do not catch my attention.

1) Song: Uta Kata

2) Satsuki

Kinda nice to listen to relax.

The thing about dieting without exercising...

Yar the irritating thing about dieting without exercising is "Easy come, easy go".

Why?

Cos that is exactly what happened...

Just ate a bit better last Sat and Sun. Maybe this week too cos my mom is away hence eat outside food for meals. Well I weighed myself on Tue and all the weight loss is back... Man its a hard struggle. Oh well and to top it off, next friday I got a staff buffet makan thing plus next sunday that actual wedding. Makan again. There goes everything. Think have to seriously make an effort to exercise, be it at home or at gym. Funny thing is I am used to being lazy by now. Remembering myself, I was the one exercising dilligently from graduation up until I went to NIE. MAN, what did NIE do to me?!? I have become a slob. Bubu... *GRRRS and pokes flabby stomache*

GRR have to gather my will and just do it... best part today I intended to do that, only that I fell asleep after late lunch. Woke up and its already 8pm. Ate a bit.
Now feel like sleeping again...

Band: The GazettE (my current favourite, far exceeding Gackt, cos of the wide array of music styles they play, very versatile, plus DAMN GOOD guitar solos and rifts and great vocalist)

Newest Song : Chizuru (a damn nice yet haunting song, a tune in my head)

I am cramming my still-unnamed MP3 player with all of their songs from their singles and albums. Great Band. In case you are wondering, yes, they have some handsome looking guys. BUT it is the guitar that really draws me in. Listen and see for yourself.

Oh?

I have just reached home today after another 5.40pm day.

The marking ended yesterday, today was calculating the marks, keying into stupid analysis which is so much data-entry that is just time-wasting, looking through the answer booklet to 'squeeze' out drops of marks to help those poor scores.

Just had my bath and decided to weigh myself..

Hmm...

....?

.....!?!

....Wow!

So far from my heaviest weight, I have lost 3kg. Another 2-3kg more to my almost ideal weight. Yay! Will try to mantain this and not let the weight get out of control. Also need to try to exercise those flabby arms and muscles...

#Day 15
Breakfast: 1 bowl laksa, 1 coffee, 1 sweet drink
Lunch: Malay rice with veg, sardine, 2 nuggets, 1 coffee
Dinner: Home cooked food

Hellgate London Launches 31st Oct

Hellgate London - the newest game to be launched just today on 31st Oct.

From the creators of Diablo, it is a game set in a post-apocolyptical era. London 2038 taken over by demons from another plane. You play as either Cabalaist - magic welding but demon-controlling mage-like class, Hunter - modern man whom relies on more technology or Templar - wearing hi-tech armor like Halo but using swords and melee weapons. Its a blend of magic and technology.

Today after marking. Its been 10 days of marking. 4 days of PSLE and 6 days of SA2... Headed down to Funan centre after 6pm to check out the launch of Hellgate London. Its kinda low-scale but was more interested in the user-interface and the gameplay itself.

WOW! Its like Diablo, with lots of diablo-style user interface. The graphics are fantastic, a major upgrade. Interestingly can play either in Third-person player or First-person player. And for First-person mode, its like playing Counterstrike, a more high-tech one. Sorely tempted to buy but stopped myself cos I needed my sleep. IF I had bought it, tonight sure game until zombie. But will think about it. The game cost $60 for the single and multiplayer modes. Single mode is story-based. Multiplayer is played online like a MMORPG. Fee paying for multiplayer to be launched later.

So I headed down, looked and was wowed. With a collegue, went to check out also some Palmtops. He strongly recommended Palm. I tried both Palm and PocketPC and agree very much with his assessment of it being very flexible as opposed to the rigid selecting and scrolling style of the PocketPC. Seriously PPC cannot make it. Rather use a computer instead, so wont have to squint and scroll. Will aim for it in January with the new $400 then.

It was kinda fun and refreshing for a change from work. Too bad tom still got work. It really kinda felt like a Friday... sobz

Disciplinary explosion.........bah........

Duh.
For this final term, suddenly I am getting many discipline cases exploding in my face. As in these cases that happen to involve my class students are not minor cases but more severe offences.

So imagine every week, I kena an explosion. Especially in the earlier part of a week. Say Monday...

Things like vandalism, smoking, loitering, injury and even break-in, possibly porno etc. Since when was primary so complicated? Cant they stick to playing Maplestory or PSP.

So today I decide to talk to the class about these occurances despite the fact only a handful are the cultprints. I used Sarcasm and Jokes to poke fun at those wrong-doers, their names not revealed. Get the rest to laugh and agree that their actions are silly.

Example:
"You are under 18 so you cant buy cigarettes. It is expensive about $10 per packet. (Using maths, each is about $0.50 so most kids cant afford) It is both addictive and smelly and harms your lungs...(the typical yadayada)...

... Yet if you choose to want to smoke, then just go the nearby coffeeshop, and find those Ah Peks who are smoking. Then go and breathe in the second-hand smoke there. Since it is FREE. Inhale as much as you want. If second-hand smoke not enough, go for car exhaust. Also free. No need to ask permission, not against the law...."

Lets just say we were all roaring with laughter even I couldnt surpress my own smiles and laughter. Well its better than I go and bottle it inside.

Just hope for relative peace for the remaining days.

Day 12:
Brunch: Tempura Udon, 1 water chestnut water
Dinner: Home cooked rice

Day 13:
Brunch: bowl of laksa, 1 sweet drink, 1 coffee
Tea cum Dinner: 2 piece KFC, some coleslaw, 1 coffee, 1 tea, 1 milo.

More Stereotypes of myself after another nite

Well we have been playing the game of Imaginary for a few times liao. And after the brilliant 'Wonton' stereotype, last nite was another one.

Where would Hellbound kiss after her first date?

The most logical would be lips bah, somewhat chosen by moi and a couple of friends.
Some had to be irritating, go choose tonsils... as if I know how to french kiss?
One smart ass has to go choose feet?!? Yar that is her fantasy of me...

Disturbed friends I have. Some have fantasies of me... some have funny ideas...
Where are the more 'normal pple'? *shivers down the spine*

Food Count Day 11
Brunch: Bowl of mee hoon soup
Dinner: Soup spoon and cup of ice lemon tea
Supper: 6 piece nugget

Your Score: Jormungand
You scored 50% Esotericism, 54% Power, and 40% Malevolence!

In Norse mythology, Jormungand is one of the three children of the god Loki and his wife, the giantess Angrboda. The gods were well aware that this monster was growing fast and that it would one day bring much evil upon gods and men. So Odin deemed it advisable to render it harmless. He threw the serpent in the ocean that surrounds the earth, but the monster had grown to such an enormous size that it easily spans the entire world, hence the name Midgard Serpent. It lies deep in the ocean where it bites itself in its tail, and all mankind is caught within his coils. At the destruction of the universe, Jormungand and Thor will kill each other.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 51% on Esotericism

You scored higher than 81% on Power

You scored higher than 76% on Malevolence

Take: The Mythological Profile Test

Last night, I weighed myself after dinner outside. Lost 0.5kg. Keeping this up until I see a reduction of my tummy.

Food List:
Day 8
Brunch: Laksa, coffee, 1 bottle of sweet drink
Tea: Coffee, tea
Dinner: Fish and Co Sea food platter and Deep Sea... there goes one day of dieting.

Day 9 -
Brunch: Lontong, coffee, 1 bottle of sweet drink
Tea: Coffee, tea
Dinner: Home food.

Day 10 -
Brunch: Lontong, coffee,
Tea: Coffee, tea and 1 slice of pizza
Dinner: Yoshinoya beef bowl, miso soup, coleslaw, 1 peach juice, 1 peach smoothy.

Hmm still too early to say if I am making it. The easiest gauge is the bulge of the tummy. It is not signinficantly smaller. When it is, I would know, have lost 2kg liao. Need to be much flatter before I've lost that 4kg.

One good thing about dieting by watching calory is not about starving oneself but making conscious choices about the food, based on the calory, nutrition etc.

Day 6 and 7

Ultra nice song by Skillet - Whisper in the Dark.
Surprisingly this is a Christian Rock band. But their other songs I dun really like.
This song is uber-cool cos of the nice rifts by the guitar.
CHECK IT OUT!

Dieting continues

Its been a week into my diet (err just weighed myself... half kilo down? Will double confirm tomorrow)

The challenge to maintain the calory-counting continues at work. So far so good I guess?

Day 6:
Breakfast: 1 coffee, 1 bowl of lasak with half egg
Lunch: 1 bottle of sweetened drink (135 cal)
Dinner: 1 bowl of rice with fried fish soup, 2 slice of sweetened pear

Day 7 (today)
Breakfast: 1 coffee, 1 bowl of nasi lemak, 2 nugget and 1 stick satay
Lunch: 1 bottle of sweetened drink (135 cal)
Dinner: Some chinese fried stuff, 2 slice of sweetened pear, 1 waterchestnut water

Hmm today's meal seems extravagant compared to earlier ones. Cos I reached home around 3.45pm, my earliest in a long while. The rest of the week, I can forget it. Down for marking until 5pm ++ from tom onwards... Bububu

Nothing much else happening in my life, except sorely tempted by the Subahru Challenge but yet cant go cos it eats into weekdays...

Stupid drama at work again. Same problem person... Why cant they just leave instead? Luckily I am not at the receiving end but yet it really dampens the day.

Nvm 3 weeks 3 days more til the end of the term. Really hope to say a permanent good-bye to those problem cases and not see them for a year at least. Well I ain't such a great Educator.

Just have had a damn trying year, teaching-wise, cca-wise, admin-wise, event-wise, problem cases-wise, parent-wise. Let it all just end quickly.

#Day 4 and 5

#Day 4
It was a rather plain saturday except I had suggested to Tab to go for a game of pool after Jap test. Cos its kinda boring and unhealthy to just go for dinner, then walk around to shop, then end up at some cafe for a drink. We've been doing that for countless times. When was the last time, we did an activity for a change?

Anyway we headed to the Lucky Plaza after dinner to play pool. Surprisingly, pretty soon the pool parlour was almost full. Guess its a good activity to do on a Sat nite. After some initial hiccups for Tab, not having played for so long. She kinda warmed up and started winning. As for me, was on the verge of sleeping during dinner, I woke up as the night progressed. Also with an activity, its hard to fall asleep. Hehe after 8 rounds, the score stood at 5-3. Discounting the 2 wins due to luck ie shoot the black ball in, or white ball followed after black ball. The score stood at 3-3, a tie. Hmm its kinda fun. Should include it in more of future hanging around activity.

Later we were trying to see what other activities besides shopping and eating one could do while in town. It stood at:

1) Pool
2) Arcade
3) Movie
4) Lan gaming
5) Board games
6) Going to those Gyms along Orchard
7) Throwing darts @ Cinelesiure

Others I managed to think up later on... includes
8) Going to skate at the Youth Park and complain of muscle aches
9) Playing Paint Ball but that will only cost $300 for 10 pple
10) Cycling at East Coast only that is at East Coast and no transport...
11) Going around with Cameras to take artistic/sceneic pics and send for competition to win money
12) Going to some gallery to try our own hand at painting and creating master pieces worth millions?

Game?

Well as for the other activity I am mainly doing now, Calory-counting, the food list for the day goes as follows:
1) Brunch - A pack of rice
2) Tea - 1 bread, 2 vege buns, 1 oat milk
3) Dinner - Tangy tomatoe @ Soupspoon and 1 peach juice

Hmm looking back, its seems kinda healthy. Should keep this up.

#Day 5
Guess the main challenge for my dieting is from work. Tom marks another 4 more weeks of work, where the irregular eating habits comes back again. It will be a challenge to monitor my diet but it cant be helped. Just have to work around it in order to succeed. Wish me luck and perseverence.

Today's Food:

1) Brunch - Chicken rice set with soup and chicken feet, 1 can of Whatever
2) Dinner - 1 bowl of rice with vege n meat

Hmm even lesser calories I guess. Staying home has its perks for I eat lesser or drink less of sweet drinks.

Saturday, October 20, 2007

#Day 3

Well yesterday marked Day 3 of the Diet.
Food thus far
1) Brunch - a pack of nasi lemak, 1/4 slice of cheesecake, 1 vitasoy
2) Tea - 2 sticks of sweet potatoe, 1 mango juice
3) Dinner - Half a bowl of mian fen guo, 1 mango milkshake
4) Supper - a big cup of elephantcinno Earl grey tea without whip cream, with low fat milk, little sugar syrup

Hmm seems okay for the food. Thing I need to cut down on is the sweet drinks. Do have a weakness for them.

Anyway I met up with my long-lost friend. We hadnt seen each other for about 8 years. Its unbeliveably long ago yet doesnt seem so far back. We caught up over dinner and subsequently in the Orchard Library Cafe.

A funny note though...
There was a dialogue session held at the same time there and it was a discussion about Foreign maids and their issues. So certain invited parties, maids, doctor, employers and maid agency were represented. I started cracking some jokes when I heard some snippets of the dialogue.

Example 1
Maid: "We are people too. The employer asked me to sleep with him... I am very scared and depressed... "

Me: "My boss didnt ask to sleep with me, YET I still feel very depressed..."

Example 2
Maid: "I work long hours, sleep at 1am, wake up at 5am. Work very long..."

Me: " I sleep late too, wake up early too. Got to sweep floor, pick up rubbish... also work very long."

And some others. Cracking up my friend with the funny remarks. But it is true. Nowadays being an Educator is like "Zuo Niu Zuo Ma" (be cow, be horse) Everything also have to do. Things like getting your hands dirty, literally. On top of that still have to be "Professional", with all the portfolio and stuff. I find it hard to internalize both aspects. Oh well. Almost halfway there liao til the end?

Later she got to go, met up with the rest to do some shopping. An unintended purchase at Fila sale. Bought 3 track pants, 3 pairs of socks plus one bag at a special price of $10. Total purchase of $95. All for work i guess, save the bag. Its a good buy cos I have been wearing the same pair of track pants for about 2.5years. Its high time to get some before those break. K that concludes my shopping for work clothes.

#Day 2

Into Day 2 of the diet, I am proud to say, I have kept to it.

Food for today:
Breakfast - 1 doughnut plus 1 nescafe
Lunch - 9 pieces of Mac Nuggets
Tea - a bottle of Heaven Green tea
Dinner - a smaller bowl of rice
and Lots and lots of water.

Hmm seems if I can keep this up, should shed those kilos. Yep lets continue with it.

Not to mention the food at the current place kinda sucks BIG time. Hence dun even feel like eating whatever was provided for the 2 tea time and lunch. Instead choose to eat lunch outside and skip those extra stuff provided for tea.

I had a serious lag in my body clock. Didnt realized that it was already thursday. Hence I called up that long-lost friend to meet up on Friday evening before she goes back on Sat. Sat got jap test ne.

Man I really really wished to take up something like Guitar so that in a couple of years time, I can become proficient in it, like my Jap. Though not the best, I am fairly decent bah. Just didnt want to have to travel too far into the Central part of spore for classes esp during weekdays. Want somewhere nearby yet accessible when on my way back from work etc. Also not somewhere near my workplaces, cos dun want to travel down especially. Hmm will look into it somewhat when my energy is up. Today kinda tired from all that accumulated hours of marking. Ja matta.

On a Diet (date of measurement 18th Nov 2007)

Am pushing myself to go on a diet.
I had gained abt 2kg shortly then another 2kg more, making me at one of my heaviest weight in my short lifespan thus far. 2 weeks back, I lost 2kg. Now 2 weeks later, its back again...

My unhealthy eating habits are to be blamed. Plus the fact that during this marking phase, there is like so many meals. Breakfast, Tea, Lunch, Tea and Dinner... Would tend to overeat, or more common, overdrink sweet drinks. PLUS today I wore my 3quarter jeans and its tight. There was a time not so long ago, during Shittybank days, where the same pair hung loose around my waist... Man where did my waist go?

Seriously its time to start on my diet. Just nice in time for a friend's wedding. Though I wont be her jie mei. Its still good for photos, health and clothes-buying time. Hence I commenced before dinner.

Dinner at Soup Spoon was eventful, as I met a long lost secondary friend whom had just came back to Spore to visit. Wat a small world! Interesting thing was, she didnt recognize me, I called out to her first. (Yep I had changed greatly in appearance, personality and mentally, since Sec days) I am still trying real hard to "UNDO" some of the Programming that are not entirely Absolute Truths and changing my negative points eg my temper. Even I am surprised when I compared myself to Uni, JC and Sec. Forget that pri... its donkey years ago.

Hmm the dinner was Tangy Tomatoe soup with a bread. Later I got hungry around 9.45pm and ate Stir Fry vegetable plus potatoe mash at the Village. Wonder if its kinda a failure?

Will continue with efforts to count the CALORY first. Then die die try to implement an exercise regime into my kinda busy-cos-of-work schedule. Hope to lose the flab and see a flatter and leaner stomache, and firmer triceps - not bat wings... K

Having a Life?

Well for the past 1.5weeks, I havent logged into Maple cos of either fatique (hence sleep early), sian (cos the boss system lagi screwed up and wasted my time) or simply cos I was watching anime instead (piaing Naruto, reached episode 210) Bubu....

The difference without having to be compelled to login everyday is some sort of freedom. The freedom to choose how to spend the remaining hours of the day (though on many days, my tired body and mind chose to sleep early instead of doing stuff...)

Well the good news at least is now I am concentrating on getting that stupid powerful helmet... imagine have to go to the game forum, look for slots to form the party, then login on the designated time and hour and try to hunt it down. Hence I am not infront of my laptop pounding some cute enemies for hours to earn the insane amout of experience to level up. Imagine, I need another 20million experience to level. The most I get from my usual is 1.6k. Calculator...

Yar so at least until the desiginated dates and timing, one session being tomorrow midnight, I can at least defer logging in.

Well should I stop the game entirely? Well I guessed, its still something I do to destress. (There was a recent incident, where I kena sharp scolding-like remarks from P but yet I felt nothing. Cos the night before, I was fighting that big boss and was killed. So my mind was still on that dying before I could take down the boss and get that ultimate helmet... to care about what she had said.) So Mapling for me still serves various useful purposes.

But the main part of Mapling was that it kept me sane somewhat in the insane world of being an Educator. The constant work, worries and issues that keep popping up and even the long hours. There are times especially the weekend, when I had enuff. Just chucked my workbag aside and just login and play. Wont even touch that bag until monday morning. Some long days, I just login to play a couple of hours to destress. Just so can switch my mind off work and the stupid stuffs that happens.

But this past 1.5weeks, dun have mood to maple. Cos of that boss system lah. So until I get that helmet, dun think I will continue with the "training".

The best way to exercise is to incorporate into your lifestyle. Still havent worked the 2 weekly gym sessions into my routine cos the days when I can go back so-called earlier are very uncertain. It could be like I think thur I could go home earlier, then on the day itself, suddenly got some stupid last minute meeting etc. That would upset plans made to slack at home etc etc. Think some would get the picture. So never pack gym gears at all. Also the issue of being hungry around 4-5pm after I just got out of work. Its a dilemna, either home and makan or go gym then after gym then makan. Of course cant last out long.

Why dun I eat my lunch? Well partly cos I am kept busy after the first session of work by misbehaviours, admin blah blah. Then also the food sold at my workplace is UNCHANGING. Imagine Mon-Fri serve the same thing from most of the stalls. Usually I would eat my brunch at 8.30am. It would be either lontong or laksa cos I dun have appetite so eat something a bit spicy to work up an appetite. THEN imagine during lunch, go to the canteen and suddenly not sure if I wanted to eat the same stuff again from breakfast. Yet the rest are not that tasty or appetitizing... Hence I just make do with a bottle of sweet drink instead. Then look for better food or better choices on my way back, where usually I'll be starving. Yar in case you are wondering, the nearest coffeeshop is quite far. Have to walk out, past a few blocks of flats, cross seperate roads to reach there. In the glaring sun, its kinda punishing cos have to climb up stairs when reach the HDB blocks. Its like kinda built on a slope type. Yar one of the main grouses at work from others is about the food also. I only eat once a day and its getting sian. Those who have worked years there must have their tastebuds killed... BUT I am not losing weight, instead gaining, cos I eat better food after work, lack of exercise... Bubu

Today was not an easy day. Had to follow-up (ie cleanup the SHIT from last friday) and scold some real bad. Its kinda a lousy day cos I dun exactly enjoy shouting and scolding pple but some pple really have no COW sense. If let it go, will not change the bad habit. So I suffer, try to talk to, scold, punish to 'help' them change for the better (wishful thinking on my part... really!) Yar will heaven pity this poor Educator and grant my wish of being financially independent after I tio TOTO Gp 1 prize (HAHAHA wishful thinking... Its only a small dream, as I go and buy my weekly dose of hope)

Some recents events and thoughts

Well as the final term of the year hurried past (wished it would JUST end), at this current point, its been 1yr 3mths into the bond. Another 1yr 9mths to go... unless I strike Toto 1st or 2nd prize...

Dunno the reason why, but since Monday, I have been sleeping much earlier, cos I feel fatigued.
Dun feel like mapling (cos the stupid fighting the super boss system is dam screwed up)
Didnt feel like watching anime online (cos too many episodes, reached episode 150+ of naruto on crunchyroll-a YouTube type video website)
Didnt go much anywhere except to Orchard to eat my late lunch.
Didnt do much at all.

Just sleep. I would reach home near 6-7pm, sleep around 9.30-10pm. Wake up the next day and feel lethargic, as though I had never ever slept extra at all.
Today I reached home around 4pm, then next thing I knew, I slept until 7.30pm. Now still feeling tired. Was wondering if I should crawl into bed around 9.30-10pm.

Some Recent events and thoughts:
1) Krynnder's ROM on Sat 29th Sept. A reason to celebrate cos she is the first in our Uni clique to hope on the bandwagon. Interestingly all of us has somewhat contributed to her romance and hence are still waiting for the big 'Thank You' ANG BAO, not from her, but from her fiance. *Hint Hint* Anyway congratz and bliss.

It was not that long ago when I accompanied her to walk around Esplanade area before the first date. Talking, listening to her, then finally asking her to go and see how it would be. Haha it seems fairly recent, but its been almost 5yrs ago. Judging from the amount of crap I have lived through, its been a long while since the Redang trip. Nostalgic. Would like to have a trip somewhere, even Msia or what, just to get away from it all. Something like the KL trip would be nice.

2) My dad officially retired on 2nd Oct, ie Tuesday though on Monday, think he didnt have to work. It marks the start of his retirement. So far, cos I only reach home near 6-7pm, didnt really observe how he spends his time. Asked my mom, she said okay so far. MAN, HOW I WISHED I COULD SWAP POSITION. I could easily come up with 10 things I could do with my time instead of doing a second shift until 5-6pm daily.

1)Guitar course,
2)watching all my animes,
3)playing my neglected PS1,2 games - at least 100 games not played,
4)playing Maplestory,
5)observe the Share market and read that bloody TA book,
6)go out to walk around and take pictures, accompany my parents - given my dad retired, mom is housewife,
7)catch up on my sleep
8)go visit and stay a bit more extendedly with my brother in msia,
9)go for Jap class feeling mroe invigorated and handle JLPT at the same time,
10)go the gym at least 3-4 times a week
11)wake up earlier eg 7am, then go out for breakfast, observe and enjoy the sunrise and the nice weather, enjoy the sunset around 6pm, not being too busy until I've forgot to look at the skies.

Well the list goes on. The sad truth about delaying enjoyment until after retirement is that by then, one is much older, hence health not so good anymore. So physical exerting stuff are out. Furthermore being a 'All work and no play', one is hardpressed to find things to fill out the time (though I dun think I have a prob with that, is more of the financial aspect of it)

We treated my dad to a Jap lunch to wish him Happy Retirement and I told him to just drive around Spore first to 'jiat hong', so that is familiar with spore. He always say he didnt know how to go to that particular place etc. Oh well...

3)My sister sprained her back, ie her disc slipped
Hence she is at home on 3 days mc. It somewhat happened cos she sat on a rather low chair for more than a month. She was in pain and couldnt move much on Tuesday. So she was driven to the Sinseh by my dad and recovering at home. She was walking around with a walking stick, haha she so resembles my grandmother. BUT i understand how she felt. Sometime back in Uni Yr 2, I dunno how, sprained my back. I felt as though I was an old woman. I couldnt straighten my back and the pain was on a completely different level! Then couldnt walk properly, until then, then I realized how its like to be old like my grandmother. So scary.

But my sister is complaining. Me and the youngest sister look at her long mc with envy. Haha finally my youngest sister understands how I feel about working. She is also dragging her feet to work. Seems the work situation for all 3 of us are not going so 'shunli'. Anyway my sister was complaining that time passed so slowly, nothing to do and its warm at home from 11am-5pm. To qualify that, today I dozed off in the other room, where she complaint was warm, instead I found it cool and breezy. The difference is she is wearing a rather thick cotton shirt, whereas I was wearing my usual sleeveless top. Oh well... it was a nice long rest. Sadly when I woke up, still feel tired. Need more of it... Motto motto

Muar Chinese n lifestyle

A funny video that is scoring huge hits and gaining my hometown 'fame'.

Yep showing many aspects of the Muar lifestyle I've led in the past.

"Ma bo de hua yu,
wo gan dao shi beh hua hi,
li bei song,
wo jiu hor li kua wa zhong kin zi gi"
Nice chorus. Haha

Many elements are familiar to me when I've watched this video.

1) Wetex the only decent shopping centre to go to, to buy pirated dvds
2) Tanjung - go there to watch the monkey and watch pple feed monkey... lao gao
3) Early morning eat shiu mai, not HK style ones, but the coarser Hokkein style ones... sho bi
4) Tanjung early morning, got old pple do the Tai Chi Qi Gong 18 styles. Last time when I was very young, it was very very 'in'. Early in the morning, the radio will play... "Hu... Xi.... Hu.... Xi..." (breathe in, breathe out)
5) The travesites - the fond memory where my aunt drove us around at nite to try to catch a glimpse. Only saw one kinda wrapped up one. Then the story of them hanging around their petrol station pumps after closing hrs.
6) Muar known for the furniture biz and its mainly done by Chinese.
7) Yar and the chinese and malays dun really live in racial harmony. Do call each other names though I dun know what those malay words mean.

A weekend too short...

It was a fun weekend, at least for me.

Strange stuff
Strange things keep happening to my memory or brain function. I keep hearing one thing, yet think it is something else. All these happened in the past 2 weeks.
Eg 1
My sister was lamenting, "Why nobody eats the jelly made by Mom? Its so nice"
In my ears, I heard it as that.
In my brains, I thought of it as
"Why nobody eats the jam made by Mom? Its so nice" Well of course, pple eat jam in the morning, now's afternoon, of cos nobody eat.
Think I answered her, but then realized the mistake. Duh selective distortion.

Eg 2
I was writing KaiGi (meeting) in jap, thinking I wrote it as that, it turned out I wrote KaGi (key)
Hmm memory really not working or I am doing selective distortion of information... it ends up with funny results though. Better try to sleep more. Maybe its the less than 6hr of sleep daily.

Eg 3(just happened yesterday)
I hopped on the bus with a collegue heading in the same direction. She got down, I was SUPPOSED to get down one stop after her to transfer to another bus. I was half remembering the pool game me and my sisters played, half thinking of heading to buy toto on my way home, half thinking of sleeping, half stoning. I had naturally assumed that I was on the bus home.
Suddenly I saw the street sign, BKE highway, jolted me back. Eh since when does that bus head onto the BKE unless its heading down town. I thought I was on the way home, it should pass by Bukit Timah instead... Wait a minute, I didnt get off the bus! I am heading down town! Argh!

So the story continues in the next section about doing stuff.

Did some stuff that we all used to do
Well the story ended off with the heroine speeding down to Orchard unintentionally. She couldnt alight cos it was too late, hence town it was.
Smsed Tab and asked her along.
While waiting, went to Lucky Plaza basement to buy toto. 1 task down.
Went back to Far East then waited. Tab arrived and we headed to Kuai Le Wo to eat hotdog, drink Kung Fu tea, our main meal. I was nursing gastric pain by then. It was near 4.30pm then? I was munching something around 4pm. Ate my first meal at 8.30am.
Then we headed to Gelara, to eat Waffles and Ice-cream. We tried to count and recall the last time we ate the 1/2 priced waffles. It seems like dam long ago. The time can actually be counted in years! Tat time when Tab was still in tuition, >2yrs.

I was telling her about the Pool games with my sisters. Its so long since I've last played. Remembered the last time was my birthday with the gang, and it was after graducation. We headed down somewhere in town to play.
Anyway I was out with my 2 sisters on sunday. We ate Pizzahut, then walked around. Then we went to an arcade and played the $2 pool there. Played 2 games each, round robin style. I beat the youngest sister, first sister beat youngest sister, finally we faced off. I lost, haha.
Was telling Tab about it, then she remarked, It has ALSO been years since we all last played pool.

We walked around, doing the usual. She shop, I look and ask. There is a nice Shark bag tat cost $65. Its not that big but is a backpack style. Argh will have to carry it with me everyday for 2 mths.
When we reached Isetan, had to seriously drag Tab from the bag and wallet and shoe section. I mean physically pull, poke, tug, push from the back. Her taste... totemo takai ne (expensive neh)
Saw a nice hat that actually fitted me nicely, those Oliver-twist cap, only prob is it cost $70 bucks! I will have to wear it everyday for 2mths and walk everywhere with it. Then pple might think I am covering a balding spot or wat. Well I took 2 photos, using my phone, will slowly look for a similar one bah...

It was a nice Tuesday, waffles and walking around. Feels like a weekend, minus the crowd. Only if didnt have to wake up early the next day.

I am a wonton?

This happened last friday bah when Tab, Candle and FH plus moi went to Pitstop, something like settlers' cafe, for some games after dinner.

First we tried Taboo but it was too lingustically-challenging for Candle, and I was too mentally-challenged after a dam long day of work. Hence our pair werent really doing well.

Then we switched games to Imaginary (not sure of the name, too stoned to notice. Was intially very stoned, but after Taboo, even more stoned) Its a stereotyping game. A person is chosen, a question is asked abt the person with 6 possible answers. The answer with most pple choosing it is the right one. Hence the term 'stereotyping'. Eg If Hellbound was a colour, which would Hellbound be?

1) Red
2) Blue
3) Green
4) Yellow
5) Black
6) White

Needless to say, think most whom know me would have chosen (3) even though I, myself may choose (5).

Well one qn was the type of soup I would be. The steoreotyped answer was "wonton". Huh? Why am I a wonton? I had chosen clam chowder cos I eat that. Candle's reason was I was most cheena amongst them. Havent heard from Tab or FH yet about that reason. One thing I learnt is that the stereotype of me is kinda clear-cut. Hmm sad pple can read me like an open book... I have layers you know (lifted from Shrek)

Some words about that Staff Outing....

Yep it was doomed to failure when the P first told the rest during contact time that the parent volunteer gp wanted to celebrate teacher's day by sending us for a 3D2N stay @ xxxxgol (an ulu area in spore) First P asked those who wanted to go, a few hands raised. Then P turned the question around, who didnt want to go, one hand went up. Hence it was decided this way. It was to be held on a weekend, fri til sun @ xxxgol. U can literally hear all the teachers thinking to themselves, "spend a weekend with my colleuges, I'll rather spend it with my family."

As I didnt want to stay on Sat or Sun, my precious weekend, I signed for the friday one. It meant I had to stay over but heck I could leave in early noon of Sat. Fair enough, I showed my face there. So it meant I stayed back after school til 6.30pm plus doing admin, marking exams papers, tallying marks, supervise a bit of cca. It meant I had to pack my bag and lugged it to work as its not a good idea to spend 1hr 10mins to then fro to get my luggage after work. Basically by the time we reached the place, I had been awake almost 12hrs, working 10hrs plus. Didnt have lunch, hungry for dinner. I had a quick shower and felt much more refreshed. Man its really good to have a bath after a LONG day.

We set off from work, a measley 5 of us. Arriving at the place, it reminds me of a bungalow low rise dormatory. Yar the beds were double storied with a connecting common bathroom which didnt have any toilet paper. Didnt squeeze in a roll cos my bag too full. Note to self-always squeeze in a roll if i am going anywhere... ulu.
There we were joined by 2 other collegues, then by 2 other parents. They had bought lots of fruits. We ate that as a primary dinner with the 2 packs of snacks I brought along. Asked another who was on the way to dabao. We played some poker games using the deck of card I brought. Notice the pattern? Using 2 of the stuff I brought along in anticipation of lack of activities there. It didnt hit 3 cos I didnt have the toilet roll. Anyway the other collegue arrived with our dabao dinner, we ate a secondary dinner. He was asked to bring his set of mahjong.

Later after dinner, I went to the bed. I laid down, talking mainly with the other BT who was with me. We kept commenting abt the state we had landed up in. It was a friday, a time to go out chill and relax. We were still there wearing masks, facing pple whom have seen the whole day. Then the number of pple staying overnite was pathetic. 4 including myself. The BT went to a friends' place. After she left, I just dozed off. The next thing I knew, I was woken up around 6.30am by the noise of the other two noisily getting ready for the next activity on Sat morning.

We were to get ready and go for a guided tour of Pulau Ubin. Its a first for me, but then again, its not exactly that I have never been in nature before. Living in malaysia with gardens, fields, playing in the garden, going for hiking trips like Taman Negara, bat cave, climb hill, canapy walk, Redang, Tioman, mangrove swamps, monkey-watching at the tiny strip of sand of a beach at my hometown, I have seen my fair share of animals and plants. So to sum it up; there are some things that I have never seen before but most of it is "seen those before, done those before".

The interesting things happened before we went to Ubin. Saw my first 3 travesites in Changi Village in singapore. Its not that I havent seen but its just I've heard so much about the CV but never been there to witness. Second was my order of Roti Tissue was more like Roti Cardboard, cos it was rather think, not crispy. Still decent but not the thinnest I've ever had.

Me and the BT had to lug our luggage with us on the entire journey cos we were leaving earlier not going for the afternoon program. We went off around 1pm after eating Ayam Pentai. My cab fare from CV to home was $23. Ouch 3 days of my usual cab fare.

Hopefully the high absentism rate would discourage anymore of such ideas. It was not popular in the first place. Why not seriously think about it before just rephrasing the question and just deciding like that. I am not sure about the turnout for the rest of the events but a gut feeling from the general consesus gathered from talking to some showed, almost nil want to stay overnite, most will show up for one day and some aint going at all. Well that's planning for ya, civil service style, well to be fair, educator-style...

Now I am feeling kinda sian cos my weekend feels so short. Tom is another week, a hectic one. Just wish for it to be over before it had even begun. Signz. This monday's Toto is 3m, already bought my hope. Now just hopeing.

KL trip Reloaded (this time, next time will be Remixed =P )

On Friday afternoon around 3pm, I had packed up for the 2nd trip with Uni friends to KL. Looking back, its been *gasps* almost 5-6 years since the first shopping trip to KL with Tab, Krynnder, Candle and Quetzal. Time really flies.

Yet this is exciting in many aspects and different too.

For one, Fake Husband (aka FH) was driving - we sped 300km down to KL at a breakneck speed of 150km/hr. The most my dad clocked was 90km/hr. It seems like a jiffy then we were in KL.

A second difference was the accomodation. We stayed at the Concord KL, which FH said was the worse lot of the 5-star hotels there. Well it was much bigger with better facilities (flat-screen tv, bathtub, walk-in wardrobe) than the cheapo hotel we stayed last time. Though we had to squeeze 3 rather big-sized ladies on the bed and a guy on the ergonomical couch, it was still enjoyable in that aspect. I have stayed in worse places, so it seems heavenly. Even my bro's place, grandparent's place all much much pale in comparision.

Financial purchasing power is much much bigger this time. Both FH and I brought an average of RM$1.1k per pop. Luckily we brought extra cos Tab n Quetzal brought near to nil... I had thought that by bringing so much, its definitely enough for me to spend, so I didnt bring my msia ATM card with about RM$3k inside along. Man I was wrong. Note to self - Next trip to Msia, to carry atm card irregardless. Food was the one that we kinda splurged on. Well money well-spent, cos its all halved in Sing dollars.

Yet there are things that are similar to the previous KL trip. For one, we didnt buy much, and interestingly all of us bought 2 pairs of footwear. Mine was a pair of POWER flip flops and a pair of BUM canvas shoes (forgot the term), costing a grand total of RM$70 only. Huh? Think Tab's and Quetzal's shoes cost only a bit more .

We went to similar shopping places as last time, KLCC and Bukit Bintang shopping. Man so much has changed. So much more different than last time. Either I was not aware of brands then or KLCC has much more stuff than last time.

Then there are NEW experiences.
(Fri)
Along the way, we ate at msia KFC, the first in at least 5 years. Nice with free flow of chilli sauce.

After the three of us, FH, Tab and I arrived and checked into the Premier room, Tab fell fast asleep shortly due to headache. FH and I headed out near 9pm, we talked and walked til we reached the Bukit Bintang area about 2km from the Hotel. It didnt seem that far cos we were chatting about the numerous 5 star hotels that lined that street. Near the Hotel was an entire street of clubs and pub. We passed that and headed to the Lot 10 area cos FH highly recommend this 'Liang Xin' massage place. He mentioned that it was purely massage, nothing extra. So we went there and I had my FIRST back and shoulder massage while he did a foot session. It cost RM$50 per 45mins. There is only one word to describe it - PAIN! Totemo PAIN. The young lady who did me was very strong though she looked about Quetzal's size. I was laid on my front while she did the back first then moving onto the head. I kinda have a high threshold for pain, yet I almost nearly scream out and hit the ground with my hand saying "I submit" like those wrestling matches submission holds.... Sidenote, those very painful spots still hurt on Sunday when we drove back to spore. Strangely when I looked over at FH, who eventually did a foot and body massage. Yet he was not the least in pain, until the guy accidentally kneeled onto his love handles. Either his pain threshold dam high or their pain neural network dam screwed up.

Well after that session, we headed on walking, til the backlane of roadside stalls. We went and found a good RAMI burger stall. Its at the back of the lane. We had a juicy and crispy Ayam Special for a mere RM$2.50. It had mayo and chilli sauce with onions, cucumber, lettuce, patty cut into half and fried and egg wrapped. Both of us made a mess eating. The ice milo and nescafe was very thick and nice. Its a match in heaven. Yum yum, should have eat more of it then, haha.

Then we headed back, walking back to the hotel near 1am. There was time enough for a nice shower and even time to clear email(FH) and mark compo(me). We set off after 2am to fetch Quetzal from the bus station. It was still a dingy area. Then we headed back to that food street for some char quay tiao. Drank another round of nice thick milo. Unfortuanately the cqt not as nice, yet we saw some cool and expensive mercedes. An SL55 model with the licence plate W1. Later we headed back and slept for the night. Most of us slept near 4am.

SAT
Yet magically I woke up near 7.30am. Went back to sleep then around 9am, the MIA Tab and I went for the complimentary 2 breakfasts. Quetzal and FH slept in. The breakfast was good, I had 3 rounds, eating enough breakfast to last an entire week. When we went back bloated, FH was out with his cousins. Then we all headed out to KLCC. Well we visited SPADE and more. I was more interested in the Bata than the branded stuff. After that we ate at the Secret Recipe. Took a cab to Bukit Bintang for more shoes. Then after I brought Tab and Quetzal to the 'Liang Xin' then headed back to the hotel. I was getting hungry, dabao a pack of Malay food, took the Metrojaya LRT 2 stops back to the hotel. Ate and had a nice dip in the bath-tub. Then slept on the free bed. That was already near 5pm.

Next thing I knew, both were back. Quetzal slept and me too. We woke up near 8.30pm and headed out for dinner. Tab was feeling ill then she did her 'concuss' act on the bed. Both of us headed out, contemplating to either eat at the Hard Rock Cafe or the wood-baked pizza place we passed by on the walk to KLCC. we headed hungrily for the latter. The name is "Langkawi Bar - Beach Club Cafe". We had a Langkawi set; a pizza, a jug of pepsi, chicken wings and garlic bread. Ordered a pint of Carlsburg draft beer. One word "Oiishi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Totemo. The sound system was good that the songs they played sounded good. Near 9pm, they had a live band. Some songs were nice especially when the male lead singer didnt sing. haha the other members sounded nicer lah.

We went back later and I dozed off soon. Poor Quetzal, no mobility. FH was out to meet his cousins and friends, Tab n I were dead to the world. She was watching cable tv until she dozed off too.

SUN
The final morning saw me waking up at another ungodly hour of near 7.30am. I tried to sleep but couldnt. Might as well, I took a long shower, got changed and finish my packing. Tab - the supposedly 'Morning' person was still dead near 8.30am. I had to nudge her awake. We went for the second compimentary breakfast. Another round of eating a week's worth of breakfast. We headed back and got packed. Checked out near 12pm and headed to Jalan Imbi for the famous bah kut teh. It was nice. My first bah kut teh in god-knows-how-many-years (more than 7years). Headed back to Spore.

Reached near 5pm, luckily no jam at first causeway. We went to Clementi for Botak Jones meal. And I got home. Spent some time bathing and unpacking then went online to maple a bit.

On the whole, it was really an interesting trip. There were elements that were similar yet so totally different. Definitely enjoyed it alot more. In fact on Monday morning while heading down to work in the cab, up until 10am, I was still in the holiday-mood. My soul was still in KL... enjoying the night life, living it up with the good food, not having to worry about waking up.... *signz*
